Programs *(For additional information on our church programs, please visit our current monthly newsletter under the Worship tab on this website.)   Programs Welcome to the Church of the Good Shepherd, Oswego. We would like to tell you something about our programs and want you to know that we are eager to answer any questions you might have.  Worship Services We have two worship services each Sunday: Traditional Worship at 8:30 a.m. Soul Journey at 10:00 am. (Contemporary Worship) Holy Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month. Our table is open to all, even if you are a member of another church. Our nursery is open at each service.   Choirs We have three choirs at Good Shepherd. Our Adult Choir, Exalt (Praise & Worship) Choir and "His Kidz" choir.  Practices are held on Thursday evenings. Sunday (Church) School Our Sunday School meets weekly at 10:00 am. during the school year. All grades through adult are available.  Last day June 1st, 2008 - join us for our annual end of the year Ice Cream Social and when we resume in September. Little Shepherd Preschool Little Shepherd Preschool follows the Oswego Community Schools District 308 school calendar. Go to the PRESCHOOL Page for more information. Vacation Bible School (VBS) VBS is held each summer at Good Shepherd for preschoolers thru 5th grade. Our 2008 Vacation Bible School will be held July 14 thru July 18th.  Registration begins the first week of June - forms available in the church office.  Deadline:  June 13th.  $10/per child or $20/per family.  For details contact the church office at (630) 554-3269 or e-mail: ogschurch@sbcglobal.net Youth Group We are pleased to offer programs for the United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) that meet on Wednesday evenings.  The Youth Group meets most Wednesday's unless they have an offsite activity planned for that week.*  Junior High students meet at 6:30 -8:00 p.m. and Senior High from 8:00-9:00 p.m. in the church basement Youth Room.   *(For a weekly youth meeting schedule, please visit the Calendar - This Week at Good Shepherd section on this website.)   For more information or a schedule of activities, please contact the Youth Director, Pam Roberts @ (630) 554-3008 or email her directly  at robertsx6@sbcglobal.net   Confirmation Class Confirmation class is open each year beginning in September. Eighth graders are welcome to prepare for full church membership. Older young people should contact the pastor if they wish to confirm their baptismal vows.  Contact the church office or Pastor Sheets for details.       United Methodist Men Our men's group meet once each month for breakfast. At this third Sunday program they plan programs and enjoy fellowship. The Brotherhood of Sidewalk Superintendents meets once a month for lunch at different restaurants in or near Oswego. This is a fellowship group for retired men, but if others have the time available, they join us too.       Parking Lot Entrance  United Methodist Women The purpose of our UMW is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ;  to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. The UMW at the Good Shepherd is made up of five (5) Circles, these women provide wonderful programs for their members and the church.
